A college in the U.S. where there was a good history program would have been too expensive for us. He did not have any prospects for scholarships, and was not offered any by U.S. colleges, but was given $1000 by Dalhousie University in Halifax, N.S. He is completing his second year there, enjoys it immensely, and the price is just a bit more than attending our state university, where he would not have access to half the courses he has at Dal. The government in Canada supports its universities.
