Every year, approximately 2.5 million students transfer to a different college. Statistics from the United States Department of Education suggest that close to 60% of college students will attend more than one school before they graduate. Some students are fortunate to find the "right" college and obtain a bachelor's degree in one institution, but the statistics show that there is a good chance that your student may consider transferring to another college.

The fact that the majority of students attend more than one school before graduation does not make your student's college transfer process any easier. To the contrary, it is a major decision for your student and the actual transferring process is usually quite complex.
