For college freshmen and sophomores, the “major” question is constantly on their minds. What should I major in? When should I declare a major? Should I double major? What if I want to change my major?
According to a recent article on
Landing a job just out of college is not as easy as it used to be. With a tight job market and struggling economy, recent college graduates are competing with their peers and seasoned professionals for entry-level positions in their field.
Every year, approximately 2.5 million students transfer to a different college. Statistics from the United States Department of Education suggest that close to 60% of college students will attend more than one school before they graduate.
Receiving an offer for an internship or job can be an overwhelming decision, particularly for a college student or recent graduate looking to start their career off on the right foot. Luckily, your student can talk with other professionals (such as yourself) who can lend a hand in making these tough choices.
June is yet another important transition time for both you and your college student. College students may have started a summer term, an internship or a job search. High school students may have realized that college is just around the corner and are busy getting ready for the fall semester. As a parent, you may be excited but, at the same time, overwhelmed about your student's new chapter in life.
