Advocacy
Since 1997, College Parents of America has existed to serve the needs of current and future college parents.

Our Issues, Are Your Issues!
As the only national membership association dedicated to advocating on behalf of parents as they prepare for and put their children through college, College Parents of America's advocacy intends to represent and bring benefit to more than 35 million households – one in every three households in America and a critical constituency in national- and state-level debates on higher education issues.
Advocacy is a key component in our service to our members. We seek to empower parents with content, services, benefits, resources and partnerships that can guide our members to make decisions with greater insight and confidence. We also embrace the issues that affect your college experience and deploy our resources to influence the changes that will benefit our members.
At Home
We provide our members with useful and practical information, resource, services and benefits that support student achievement and success.
On Campus
We provide insights and resources so our members can effectively advocate for their student while supporting the important work of colleges and universities to increase the self-reliance and independence of young-adult children.
On the Issues
You are not alone. College Parents have common interests, needs and concerns. We monitor, research, address and provide a voice on critical issues of interest to parents. We also seek out benefits for members that can help parents and students handle these issues. Issues of note include:
- Student Health & Safety
- College Access and Affordability
- Continuing and Increasing Recognition and Benefits for the parental support, contributions and financing of a college education
