Statement Reacting to College Board Announcement, "Trends in College Pricing"

October 20, 2009

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, OCTOBER 20, 2009
"While the College Board suggests that family financial difficulties are placing greater pressure on school financial aid budgets, the real issue is just the opposite: sustained annual increases in the cost of college are placing even greater pressure on family budgets.  Just last week, the federal government announced a zero rate of inflation for the past year.  It's only natural for parents to question why colleges are raising their prices yet again, while the rest of our economy is inflation-free."
